Usually we keep our news light and party-focused here at Diddy Rascals HQ, but this week is an exception in honour of the UK’s first ever Children’s Mental Health Week, that took place last week.

One in ten children aged between 5 and 16 years (three in every classroom) has a mental health problem, and over half of all mental ill health starts before the age of 14 years (75% has developed by the age of 18).

As parents, these are stats we can’t afford to ignore.

Launched by charity Place2Be, the campaign for this week and beyond is to encourage everyone to ‘spread a little kindness’.

Not only can it help someone (old or young) going through a tough time, studies show that being kind makes us happier and less stressed too (which is a bonus, hey?!)

So get spreading! It’s not hard and who knows what a difference it will make to a little Rascal near you.
